The concept of percussion has been altered significantly by the evolution of the instrument. The reConvert project is dedicated to change the face of the percussionist world. The duo consists of VICTOR BARCELÓ and ROBERTO MAQUEDA that have actively worked with composers such as Georges Aperghis, Simon Steen Andersen, Michael Maierhof, Daniel Ott, Marko Ciciliani, Luciano Azzigotti, and premiered over a dozen works written for training of emerging young composers. This concert will be a composer-performer collaboration with violonist and multimedia artist Pedro González.
Victor is a percussionist who focuses on experimentation with different concert formats and the use of multimedia in order to create experiences that transcend sonic level. The music presented in his personal projects is influenced by techno, free jazz and noise music. Victor’s musical work focuses on contemporary music, repertoire development and the search for new forms of expression.
Born in Spain, Roberto is a percussionist who is particularly interested in post-percussive practice, creating experimental pieces for percussion, and developing a new perception of percussive music.
